…so she stepped outside, the garden spread out before her in a kaleidoscope of colors, the scents of which slowly engulfed her as the lazy warm breeze brushed gently over her tanned face, her long brown hair dancing delicately. The sun shone brightly and her slim figure cast a long shadow behind her as she moved out onto the grass. It was still early but already very hot and you could smell the morning dew evaporating out of the verdure. She moved down the old driftwood steps, they so worn in places you stepped only on rounded, jutting wood and…

In a vacuum, it's easy to say that one would never act vengefully, seek retribution, or try to ‘get even’, but in the moment, when the offender is a real life, flesh and blood human, the equation changes, dramatically.

At times we all live in the world of ‘I would never’, as in ‘I would never act that way’, ‘Live that way’, ‘Treat someone like that’; ‘I would never be a hypocrite’ or ‘cruel’ or ‘petty’. The problem with all that is…..we are all those things, ‘like that’, sometimes. …

What a coincidence! Trump cuts the FDA budget, the EPA CLEAN POWER PLAN and tells the EPA to ‘reconsider’, and has suspended, the 2015 Clean Water Rule until review in 2020 (not good); and almost immediately people are getting sick from ‘lettuce’ due in large part to polluted water. We can get back into corporations and how their loyalty is to profits…..purely…… shareholder profits are the one and only motivating principle, their god….their religion, but that would be to absolve our elected ‘leaders’ from responsibility, and we are not going to do that here, not today.

Today I’m not going…

Stepping out into the extreme cold, his layers of clothing doing little to shield his body against the gnawing, frigid air; his Monster once again sternly forcing his participation in an endeavor, which neither instilled appreciation in the boy, nor actually taught him anything due to the noteworthy ambition, not being his education, betterment or well-being, but from a place of deep hatred and resentment, as punishment, for reasons unknown to the boy, reasons only known to the Monster. The boy had long suspected that his Monster hated him, but the boy couldn’t bring himself to think like that, although…

We all know the usual suspects. We know that Fed, Djokovic and Nadal will be championship threats, play deep into week two and one will probably win; personally I never bet against Mr. Roger, but that’s another story. I also really can’t imagine any unknowns having much of a chance or even ‘kinda knowns’ like a Thiem or an Isner or Dimitrov, not over two weeks and having to go through multiple heavyweights. I just don’t see it, not impossible, but its just not going to happen. Dimitrov might not even make it out of his first round match against…

Mildred: Hey Johnny, what are you rebelling against?

Johnny: Whadda you got?

The outsider lives in an original world, a unique world, a world of individual perspective, free from the pressure of the group. Once the outsider attaches to an anothers ideology or relationship or an image that was created by someone else, he loses some of that uniqueness; he loses some of that originality, a bit of his individuality; twisting and turning to exist within this new construct; having to learn the rules of this new reality, the reality of conforming to another’s perspective, another’s truth.

Only free from…

We were born into a world of magic; adults lived in the bright, obvious, serious, boring world, we moved in the shadows; in a world of endless possibility, we were sure of the magic, the air crackled as we moved through it, a familiar pleasant silent buzz in our ears, life coursing through us; older people went about their dreary days, toiling, hardly noticing the adventures taking place around them, under foot, those times long forgotten, lost now, buried under hurt, pain, heartache thats just for the olds. We made our world, every moment to come sure to be more…
